About Drama's Station

The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Vue weather station. The altitude of the station is 115 meters from sea surface and at a disatance of 3 klm from the center of the town. The data is collected every 2.5 seconds and the site is updated every 8 seconds. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

About Drama

The prefecture of Drama is in the northeast edge of the area of Greece, on the border with Bulgaria.It is the richest county in terms of natural enviroment.Enclosed by the Rodope mountains in the north, of Menoikiou and Orvilou in the west, of Paggaiou in the south and the mountains of Lekani in the eastern.The mountain that dominates the highest point of the horizon in 2.232 m is Falakro, the mountain symbol of Drama.Administratively is attached in the region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace and is divided into 8 municipalities and a community.In the prefecture of Drama you have the opportunity to wander the unique spruce forest or Kara-ntere, to enjoy the natural monuments (caves, gorges), to do mountain climbing or hiking and climbing.

Town of Drama is the capital of the prefecture and is the 12th largest municipality in Greece.In the roman era Drama was known as Dravescus.Has excellent water resources and may well owe its name to Hydrama.There is a modern ski resort, the 2nd largest in Greece on mountain Falakro, and also host an International Short Film Festival.The region produces tobacco, wines and marble exported to the USA, Europe and Asia.
